Meta announced a lot of new things for advertisers in October 2026. Some of them you can use today. Some are only being tested. And a few are made for big brands with big budgets.
I read Meta's two official posts about it, one from 6 October and one from 15 October. In this article I explain every update in simple words, and I tell you which ones are live and which ones are not.
One small note. The numbers in this article, like "5% more conversions", are Meta's own claims. Meta wrote them, and I have not tested them myself. So please treat them as Meta's claims, not as proven facts.
What changed, in short
- You can now turn your photos into video ads. This is live.
- Customer Lifecycle Strategy is open to all advertisers. This is live.
- Ads Creative Studio is reaching more advertisers.
- Meta's AI helper in Ads Manager already gives creative tips and remembers your business. The part where it builds campaigns for you is still being tested.
- A new way to find audiences by describing your customer is coming by the end of the year.
- Ads Super Burst starts rolling out this month, slowly.
- First Impression Ads is a test in the US.
- Reels Trending Ads now has 15 topics.
- Aggregated View Time is in an early test.
Make video ads from your photos
Meta says people spend more than 60% of their time on Facebook and Instagram watching video. That is why Meta keeps adding video tools. Here is what is new:
- Photo to video. Inside Advantage+ creative, you can now make a video from photos you already have. Meta says this is available to everyone.
- Ads Creative Studio. Meta launched this workspace in the summer. It shows you which of your ads are working and why. It is now reaching more advertisers. You can also make new video ideas there, and change the first few seconds, the music, the length, the text on screen, the captions and the ending.
- Product videos for catalogs. If you sell products through a catalog, you can turn product photos into videos in bulk. Right now this is only for some advertisers in Meta's beta test.
- Smart product suggestions. This fall, Meta is also rolling out a tool that looks at your ad, finds the product in it, and suggests other products to show along with it.
What I would do: Pick your three best photo ads. Make videos from them and run them next to the original ads. Then see which ones bring you more leads or sales. Always watch the video before it goes live. Check the text, the product and the ending. Your own offer and your own voice should stay in the ad.
Customer Lifecycle Strategy
Say you run an ad to find new customers. You do not want to show it to people who already bought from you. That wastes money.
Meta's Customer Lifecycle Strategy helps with this. You tell Meta that a campaign is for finding new customers. Meta then gives you suggestions to leave out your existing customers. Before this, you had to build that list yourself. It is now open to all advertisers.
Meta is also testing a simpler way: leaving out a whole group of existing customers with a single Audience Label.
Example: A coaching class wants new students for the next batch. If you mark the campaign as "new customers", Meta will suggest leaving out the old students. Your budget then reaches new people.
Tip: Keep your customer list up to date. Meta can only leave out the people it knows about.
Describe your customer in simple words
Meta is also working on AI audience discovery. You write who your ideal customer is, in plain language. Ads Manager then shows the best matching audiences in a few seconds, and you keep only the ones you want. Meta says this will come to Detailed Targeting by the end of the year. It is not live yet.
Meta's AI helper in Ads Manager
Meta has an AI business assistant inside Ads Manager. It helps you plan, set up, improve and measure your campaigns. Meta says advertisers who follow its suggestions get about 5% more conversions at the same cost per conversion than advertisers who do not. Again, this is Meta's own number.
What works today:
- Creative tips. What is working in your ads, from Ads Creative Studio, now shows up inside the assistant.
- Better memory. The assistant remembers more about your business, like what you tried last quarter, your busy seasons and your goals.
What is only being tested:
- Making campaigns by chat. Meta says that soon you will be able to plan and create a campaign, make images and text, change targeting or change your budget just by asking. You will see a preview, and you must approve it first.
- Repeat tasks and alerts. For example, weekly summaries and reminders to check your budget.
- Bringing in your brand guidelines from other AI tools you already use.
Meta also mentioned Muse for Small Business. It is a tool Meta launched recently to help small businesses run their daily work and their ads.
My advice: When the new features arrive, do not give the assistant your full budget on day one. Start with small tasks, and always read the preview before you approve.
Meta ads MCP server, for agencies
This one is mostly for big advertisers and agencies. In simple words, it lets them use outside AI tools to work with their Meta ads. They can upload creative, preview ads and check performance. Any work the AI tool does is saved as a draft in Ads Manager, and nothing goes live without the advertiser's permission and approval. Meta lists partners such as Databricks, Kochava, Perplexity, Snowflake and Triple Whale that already use it.
Buying inside a chat
Meta is testing ways for people to buy a product without leaving a conversation. With Shopify, it is testing this in Meta Business Agent on Messenger. This fall, it will start testing it in Meta AI with Adyen, PayPal, Shopify and Stripe. Meta is also adding PayPal wallet to Muse. All of these are tests for now.
Four new products for big brand campaigns
On 15 October, Meta announced four products at its Brand Building Summit. Meta says Reels make up more than half of all the time people spend on Instagram. It also says 71% of people believe Meta has the most influence on the cultural trends they follow. And in a study of more than 1,000 campaigns, Meta says it built awareness 18% better than the average brand channel. These are Meta's claims.
1. Ads Super Burst
This lets a brand book a window of 3 to 24 hours. In that time, its ad reaches a very large audience, a bit like a TV ad. A brand can also choose category exclusivity. Then no other advertiser in the same category can book that window. Meta says it suits a product launch, a big event like an awards night, or the first weekend of a sports season.
Brands plan it in Reach Planner, where they see an estimate of reach and price. Meta says delivery is guaranteed against those estimates.
In Meta's tests, the median reach was 34 million people per flight, which is one booked window. That is 14% of US adults online in a single day. Meta also says people remembered the ad a little more (2.9 points) and wanted the product a little more (0.6 points). Meta says Ads Super Burst starts rolling out this month, in phases.
2. First Impression Ads
This gives one brand per day the very first ad people see when they open the Facebook app. Meta is testing it in the United States only, and Meta itself calls it an early test.
3. Reels Trending Ads
Your ad plays right after the most-watched Reels on Facebook and Instagram. Meta opened this to all advertisers last year. Now there are 15 always-on topics to choose from, including new ones like Home & Garden and Spanish language content. There are also special sets for the holidays and the start of football and basketball seasons. Later this year, you will be able to leave out your own custom audiences.
Meta says that in campaigns using it, action intent went up by more than 5 percentage points compared with people who saw no campaign. It also says unaided brand awareness went up by 5 percentage points.
4. Aggregated View Time
Meta says people watch short videos differently from TV. You might see a brand for 2 seconds today, 1 second tomorrow, and 2 more seconds on Thursday. Meta's research found that 5 seconds of attention added up over a week led to 32% more offline sales than one 5-second view in one go.
Aggregated View Time is Meta's new way to measure the total time a person spends with your brand across a week. It is in early testing, which Meta calls alpha.
What this means for a small business
Super Burst and First Impression Ads are made for big campaigns, and First Impression Ads is only a test in the US. The useful lesson for everyone is simple: showing your brand often, in short videos, adds up. Reels Trending Ads is the one product that Meta says is open to all advertisers.
What I would do in the next two weeks
You do not need the costly formats. You need better videos, a clean customer list, and a habit of checking whether a feature is live or only a test.
This week:
- Make videos from your three best photo ads in Advantage+ creative.
- Check if Ads Creative Studio has reached your account.
- Update your customer lists.
- Mark your new customer campaigns as campaigns for finding new customers.
Next week:
- Make 3 or 4 short videos with different openings for the same offer.
- Compare the cost per lead or cost per sale of each video.
- Try Reels Trending Ads with a small budget, if one of the 15 topics fits your business.
Keep in mind:
- If Meta says "testing" or "alpha", the feature is not live yet. Do not plan around it.
- Compare Meta's numbers with your own leads and sales.
- Check everything an AI tool makes before it goes live.
